“Daddy?” Mary called, charging into the house. Clark Ross following behind.

“Yeah, sweetheart?”

“Look what I found.” Mary held her clasped hands open a peak, revealing the tiny frog inside.

Dean smirked, closing her hands back up. “Cool, now take it back outside. Your mom has a strict, no frogs rule.”

Mary giggled, but followed his directions. “Come on Clark, let’s see if it can climb trees.”

---

“But Chloe,” Dean started, looking between his niece and his wife. “I can’t.”

Chloe rested a hand on her hip. “You can’t baby-sit a little girl? You raised a little girl.”

Dean watched Katie walk away to entertain herself in the living room, her doll clutched tightly in her hand. (Mary had never carried dolls.) “That was different.”

“How?”

“That was Mary.”

Chloe laughed, slipping into her shoes and coat. “You’ll be fine. Katie’s not that different.”

Dean cocked an eyebrow. “Yeah, right.”

Chloe just smiled and gave him a quick peck on the mouth before hurrying out the door. The League was calling and she needed to hurry.

Dean watched the door for a moment after it had shut behind her, wondering what he was supposed to do now. Sure he’d raised a little girl Mary was thirteen, way past Katie’s five years but somehow he didn’t think it’d be the same thing.

“Uncle Dean?” Katie called, walking over to his side.

“Yeah, Katie?” He crouched down to her level.

She held up a book to his face. “Can you read to me?”

Dean sighed in relief. Reading he could do. “Sure.” He grabbed the book from her hands and guided her back to the living room, before noticing the cover. Princess Tales? Dean frowned. Awesome.

“Do the voices like Daddy does,” Katie said, settling next to him on the couch.

Dean smirked, imagining Sam reading princess stories to his daughter. “What does a princess sound like?” he asked.

He used to ‘do the voices’ for his kids when they’d been Katie’s age, but he didn’t remember any princesses being in the stories. In fact, there hadn’t been many princesses in the house. Chloe had never been big on the princess thing, fearing they’d raise a spoiled girl, and Mary had never complained.

Katie gave him a duh look and Dean swore he was staring at Sarah. She was definitely her mother’s child, except she had Sam’s dimples. The girl was going to break hearts. “Like a girl.”

“Oh, of course.”

---

“Uncle Dean?”

“Yeah?”

“Can we have a tea party?”

Dean cringed. “A tea party?” Why did little girls like tea parties? What was so fun about pretending to drink tea from tiny plastic cups? He never had understood that.

“Yeah, my doll wants a tea party.”

“Your doll?” Dean parroted, silently cursing the Justice League’s timing. It figured Chloe would get called away after they had been recruited to baby-sit the youngest Winchester. You owe me, Sammy. Dean thought, as Katie led him into her room.

Sam and Sarah were determined not to raise a spoiled child, but it was hard not to spoil her a little. She was the baby of the family, after all. Her full room was a reflection of that fact.

“You sit there,” she directed, gesturing to one of the small chairs around the small table.

“I think I’ll kneel,” Dean said, moving the chair back.

Katie shrugged, sitting across from him. Her doll sat in a chair to his right and a stuffed unicorn sat on the remaining chair. “Uncle Dean, this is Rainbow,” Katie introduced, patting the unicorn on the head.

“Hi,” Dean greeted wryly, giving the stuffed animal a stiff wave and praying Sam and Sarah would get home early.

---

“Dean? Chloe?” Sam called, walking into his living room.

“Daddy!” Katie greeted, running from her room and jumping into his arms.

“Hey, honey. Where are Uncle Dean and Aunt Chloe?”

“Aunt Chloe went to work and Uncle Dean

“Sam!” Dean called from down the hall. A moment later his older brother appeared in the doorway. Glitter stained his left cheek and the skin beneath was red as if he’d been attempting to wipe the makeup off. “How do you get this stuff off?”

“What happened?” Sam asked, guessing the answer. Dean just looked at him, then his daughter. “Katie, did you try giving Uncle Dean a makeover?”

Katie nodded slowly. “Yes.”

Sam looked up at his brother, confused. “How?”

Dean rubbed at the cheek some more. “I fell asleep while she was watching the Little Mermaid.”

Sam bit his lip to keep from laughing. “Join the club.”

lol, that was so cute. i think Dean's ego would have grown more at seeing how his daughter was so "tough" and how Sam's daughter is such a "girl", since he's always implying that Sam is a girl. lmao.
anyway great job.

Thanks!

Sure his ego grew, but it was still hard to babysit her ;)
